About 4 years ago, at the beginning of 2001, I had finally scored my first ‘career’ job in an investment bank…

After years of studying, I finally found a job I thought was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life... be an investment banker.

Getting a job as an investment banker is a very competitive where I live, in Sydney, Australia. This meant that I had to go to over 40 interviews with 40 different firms before I got my foot in the door at OCBC Bank (Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation) as a low level officer.

I thought that I could get some experience, and use that experience to get a job in a different firm, slowly making my way up the corporate ladder.

But after working there for about 12 months, I was only earning a measly $25,000 per year.  I was just scraping by on what I was earning from my job, and it didn’t seem like I was going to be earning much more than that any time soon.

And I remember…

The moment of realization…

I was reading an interview in a business magazine with a 32 year old who was a multi-millionaire… he had the fast cars, the expensive boat, the spectacular apartments... and he was only 32!

That’s what I wanted!

But how could I get it?

I started wondering…

And I remember asking myself this question…

“How can I afford to buy a yacht working as an employee?”

I projected 10 years into the future, with my career at it’s peak and asked myself…

“If my career was at it’s optimum, would I be able to live a life like that of the young entrepreneur I was reading about?”

I looked around at my co-workers. Some of them had been there for over 10 years and didn’t seem to have a very abundant, nor enjoyable, life.

And I started wondering… was this what I really wanted to do in my life? Work full-time for the rest of my life and not achieve a fraction of what I wanted?

NO WAY!!!

That’s when I started looking for ways to make a lot of money starting with nothing.

I remember the first course I did was on share investing. I had a friend who worked at the company selling courses. And I bought...

I remember I was so excited about learning the information. I was sure that this would make me millions.

So I paid $5,000 for a 3 day course. And when it was finished, I came home and started implementing what I had learnt immediately. For 3 months I followed the formula step by step…

But I wasn’t getting the results that I wanted. I wasn’t even making a profit! I knew that I should have been making something by now.

I took courses on personal development, goal setting, success psychology… courses that would help me grow as a person.

I became a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), which gave me many tools for rapid change. Tools I could use with myself and with others.

And things started to change…

I literally used every tool I learnt with myself, overcoming personal barriers, creating new habits and following proven steps for success.
