50 Most Powerful Women In Business

I've always tried to read as much about successful people as I can.

When you get into the minds of successful people you can begin to learn how they think.

And what you'll find is that successful people think similarly... they share similar qualities... and the more you can read about successful people, the more you will understand what is required for success.

I'll go into more detail on the importance of reading success stories in the future.

I just read the feature in Fortune Magazine on the Most Powerful Women in Business in 2005.

The most powerful woman in business in 2005 was Meg Whitman, the CEO and president of EBay, who earned $29,900,000 in 2004. According to Forbes, Meg Whitman is even more powerful than Oprah!

Reading and interacting with successful people shape my ideas of success. As a writer and public speaker, I encourage people to clarify their own goals and to take conscious action to achieve them. I think female leaders and other female success stories aren't less common than male ones. Women may simply be more focused on getting jobs done and less interested in getting media attention or wider acclaim. For me, success is defined less by achieving things I plan than by feelings evoked through unexpected positive experiences that relate to or expand my original dreams.
